San Diego Fishing Harbor on Point Loma
One of the many beautiful sights in San Diego are it's many harbors. This is one of the premier fishing harbors where some of the deep sea fishing tours originate. With views to the downtown, not a bad place to hang out.
I ventured into one of the wonderful fishing supply stores, Fisherman's Landing on the boardwalk and I was totally amazed with the place. I never saw so much in the way of lures and fishing tackle, rods and reels, clothing, you name it, they had it. As I looked in more detail at the lures, I had flashbacks of the many times my Dad would take me out in the boat in the early evening to go fishing. We used worms but I had a bucket load of lures in the tackle box. Never used them much but they sure did look sharp ( no pun intended).
The biggest thing I ever caught as I recall would fit on a salad plate and still have room for the salad. I used to think it was a waste of good worms, I did catch a lot of mosquito bites if that counts for anything. But the flashback memories were great. Oddly I was still drawn to this whole wonderful experience and I know I will return again. Who know's I might even go out on a fishing expedition. At the very worst, the bait they sell at the piers is bigger than anything I ever caught anyway.
