Get Enthusiastic or Get Out!

The other day I ran across something while I was clearing away some of the many documents and papers associated with when I was president of our association of REALTOR®.
It was a small little sign in a cardboard frame that I had in my board office at the time. It is only 4 words but it speaks volumes. In leadership, probably everywhere, it is always a tug of war between those in office and those that relish the idea that they should have been.
Isn't it really the same in just about everything in life. I have little patience for negativity, in myself or others especially in performance. But I am not perfect, far from it. But I am also not really into excuses about why something can't be done. I am more the one that has so many ideas that I can't even get to then all.
The people I surround myself with even here in the Rain, are the best, most enthusiastic and are truly happy with others succeeding. When I go to meetings or conferences, almost the minute I arrive, I find my huggers. What could make a person feel more significant as a person than to get some hugs from his peers. When I go to my office and haven't seen a person for a while, Hugs. Happens a lot. No big mystery about why. Because I have always demonstrated that I care. You see I am also enthusiastic about other's plans to make it in life.
Being enthusiastic about whatever the endeavor is so important. When there are things that need done, have you ever noticed how many persons become shy and sit with a glaze in their eyes as though they just received a ton of bad news. Then you see the others pop up with such enthusiasm.
Life is a journey about discovery and experiences. Every time I have stepped forward to lend a hand, I learned something new or made a new friend. Usually both. But to experience the very best that life can be, be enthusiastic. It is a choice. Be the team player and if so inspired, be the team leader. But be clear, leading has unique responsibilities associated with it. You are tasked with helping to ensure that others are successful. What a fabulous and satisfying feeling it is to see a friend or colleague succeed.
I get so many comments here in the Rain that are so complimentary. And I always welcome them as well as give them because it is part of a contagion, spreading good and happy vibes helps each of us do what we do, even better. No one has all the answers to anything in life but being enthusiastic and wanting to enable others, is an unmistakable quality that I choose for my self and in those I surround myself with. And how blessed I am to have so many.
