Mary Mary Quite Contrary, How Does Your Garden Grow , "Very Well Thank You"!

On my journey last week, I stayed in a small town on the central coast of California called Cambria at the Cambria Pines Lodge at the southern end of Big Sur Coast Hwy 1.

Their themed gardens in the Pines were of particular appeal to me. Frankly when I got there, I knew this was the right place from the moment I entered the grounds. I have been to hotels with fabulous grounds but this place was very unique and beautiful and all in a natural setting. They don't call it the Pines lodge for nothing because while a guest here, you are living in a forest of Pine trees and flowers. And wildlife too.

Their gardens are prized and they even have a nursery to keep things looking flawlessly natural. The gardens have the appearance of being almost fantasy like.

They have numerous different gardens throughout the Historic Cambria Garden's Retreat. Three of the gardens are of particular note. The Butterfly Garden, The Rose Garden and the Organic Kitchen Garden. I would bet you can guess what's in those gardens.

Here is a collection of photos  from one my favorite gardens and it didn't even have a name. So I dubbed it the "Empty Nester Garden", since no little birds were calling these  sweet birdhouses "Home". They all had their gardens on the roof except for one and I think that house is about to have it's garden installed soon.
