Views of San Diego from Mount Soledad

This Photo was taken from Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial site looking North using a 400mm telephoto lens looking North to the Golden Triangle.
I hadn't been up on Mount Soledad in a couple years and I was especially interested in what could be obtained in the way of photos of distant sites both North and South. This location also provides for some stunning views of the ocean and coastline.
Looking South to Downtown, this photo was using the standard kit 105mm lens

Changing Lens to the 400mm produced this photo below

Without adjusting this for brightness, while the image appears closer and more clear, using the 400 mm lens would require a longer light exposure time or more post processing including brightening which I didn't do as yet to this photo. I was more interested in the clarity and what the larger lens could produce image wise and then learning more about how to vary the settings to get the best result. As you can see from these photos, I don't have that down as yet. This part of downtown is approximately 8 miles away from the location where I took this photo on Mount Soledad.
