San Diego Real Estate Holidays at The Hotel Del Coronado
Every Year, it is tradition to make my way over to the Grandest Hotel in all of Southern California to take in the decorations and holiday festivities.
The Hotel Del Coronado's Holiday theme this year is the "Sweetest Season". The Hotel is decked out from top to bottom with sugarplums, peppermint swirls, lollipops and many other holiday treats and decorations. The Hotel is trimmed in over 100,000 lights outlining the entire resort.
As in just the past 5 years, the hotel's major attraction, 2nd only to the enormous Christmas Tree in the grand lobby, is the ice skating rink. Billed as "Skating by the Sea". The frozen ice would defy logic as it is just steps to the ocean ( still at above 60 degrees ) and the enormous sandy beach with seasonal temps as high as the low 70's. Part of the proceeds raised at the skating rink will be donated to Make-A Wish Foundation.
While strolling the grounds and the Hotel, I couldn't resist the many shops on two levels of the hotel and I made my way back out to the "Coffee by the Sea " shack for a fabulous hot chocolate which I savored by one of a number of gas fire pit tables throughout the deck level while the skating and the hotel garnered most of the attention, I couldn't help but notice the private Smores parties going on at the beach side. Tables and fire pits were set up with comfortable seating and with hotel personal keeping the flames roaring and the smores coming.
The second photo here in the slide show is one of the 4 enormous Crown chandeliers in the Crown Dining Room as taken from ground level outside one of the windows. Taking photos, especially of the Christmas tree can be a real challenge with the many guests and tourists all wanting to pose at the tree for a photo. Each year there is a different theme for the holidays and each year the Hotel Del Coronado draws thousands to take in all the Holiday splendor and atmosphere.
I hope you will enjoy this Hotel Del Coronado Holidays slide show.
