Today is the San Diego " Parade of Sails "

One of the most exciting events that takes place in San Diego all year is ongoing now in the San Diego Bay and the Embarcadero. There are 10 sailing ships in the parade this year and they will be doing mock battles, and a sailing race tomorrow of the America's Cup 12 meter yachts, the Stars and Stripes and the Abracadabra, a sunset sail on the America, the yacht for which the America's Cup was named and it all starts tomorrow ( Friday)
More festival ships will be on display at the Embarcadero through Monday. Being Labor Day Weekend and one of the most exciting waterfront events ever, the crowds will be enormous and I would recommend taking the Trolley or alternative transportation and then walking to the Embracadero. It can be cool after the sun starts to set , so a light sweater or jacket will come in handy.
I will be there starting tomorrow to attempt to capture the moment for you, as well as all the visiting ships and I will be writing several more posts with photos of all the action.
