What's LOVE Got To Do With It !
This LOVE Sculpture is part of a series by artist Robert Indiana and sits on the grounds of the University of Pennsylvania's Blanche Levy Park. A smaller version can be found at the Philadelphia Museum of Art's Love Park. After skateboarding was banned at Love Park, this symbol has often been used by organizations that oppose the ban.
While I was back East I visited the University of Pennsylvania on several occasions and took quite a few photos of some of the beautiful buildings and the grounds in and around the campus. While I was there on campus, I ran into a new student photographer on a class assignment who needed some help. Her lens had a fine mist on it from the rain and luckily I had a lens cloth which I gave to the cause. It rained the several days while I was there and this student was taking photos under an umbrella, exactly how I had to take mine. But it was great visiting campus and we both enjoyed the encounter in the rain.
