I received an e-mail from a client a few minutes ago, telling me how awesome I am. Well, here is why my clients might think that.
I major in minors. Naturally in our business we have to take care of the big things, the important things that must be done. Be it repairs, order for services whatever. We all know what they are.
There are loads of minor things, so numerous that we can lose of sight of all them. From an insect on the window sill that might have been overlooked, spots on windows, dust on the floor, toilets that need flushed reguarly while home is vacant to be sure they sparkle, making sure the trash cans and recyclables are picked up from the street and so many other minor details.
We have had here 4 days of 95+ temperatures with high winds, some gusting over 100 miles an hour. The worst part of it is that the humidity is less than 10%. Flowers are dried crisp on the stem.
I represent clients that appreciate that I take really good care of the properties while in escrow and even before and during the time they are listed. The buyer to one of these properties has a list of minor little things that he wants done from his inspection report since he paid top dollor for the property, set a new high $$ actually. These things are all underway.
I spent about 5 hours with a helper today and cleaned the entire outside area, cleaned the pool of the debris from the winds and balanced it, trimed the flowering landscaping of all the dried material from the strong winds and heat, hosed everything down and make the place sparkle like new. I let both clients know ( representing Seller and Buyer) everything has been done and is now in perfect order.
These are some of the little things that are really important to people but are not major things or usually thought to be in our wheel house. They are sometimes nusance things but I specialize in them. Making things as near perfect in the transaction and the property as possible. That is why I major in minors, because it is the little things that people appreciate the most, especially when they don't have to deal with them. I am the good guy. And I will tell everyone this. This is a defining difference in my real estate career.
