Creating Photo Special Effects for Fun
It is fun sometimes to enhance a photo to create special effects. I took a photo of a scary Halloween character and decided to create something different with it.
Starting with the Original Head Shot Photo
I used my Photo Editing software, Aperture to crop and then blur the background somewhat.
I then uploaded the cropped and blurred photo to Picnik.com and applied several of their special effects. The 1st effect was adding an overall softening using Focal Soften. The 2nd effect I added is a Mirror Frame using a purple blue tint color.
Then I added the 3rd effect ,Vignette, giving the outside of the face area an intense clouded cobalt blue color. To finish and add the final effect, I then chose the last effect, Orton-ish to give an over all bluish radiance. 4 simple and easy steps. The finished photo is below.
Now I have a photo in my file suitable to use in my next years Halloween Holiday post.
