San Diego " Housing Hot Spots"
North San Diego County Coastal Communities and a few other hot spots in San Diego are enjoying both increases in home prices and in some areas an increase in sales as well. One of these communities is Carmel Valley. When State Highway 56 was developed about 8 years ago giving the inland areas east of Interstate 15 easy access to the coastal areas, the large stretch of land that was previously mostly used for farming was now intersected by the highway and seemed ripe for development.
Carmel Valley was one of the largest underdeveloped areas of the county stuck in between developed coastal areas and the already developed inland areas. With vistas and canyons of views to the ocean in one direction and the mountainous areas of East county in the other, it seemed ideal for housng development.
Carmel Valley is now one of the more sought out areas drawing both high paid tech workers and move-up buyers. The median price for homes here is $950,000 and sales increased in this area over 13% the first six month of this year. Carmel Valley is one the bright " Hot Spots " for housing in the entire county of San Diego.
Other Hot Spots are Southwest Carlsbad , Del Mar and another standout is Jamul located well inland where the prices jumped over 15% with sales holding steady to what they were in 2010.
