San Diego Real Estate | Downtown East Village
Bursting into life just a few years ago, East Village is one of San Diego's fastest growing neighborhoods. Home to the San Diego Convention center and San Diego major league baseball park, it recently enjoyed the opening of one of the worlds largest Pedestrian suspension bridges linking the Padres Petco ballpark to the San Diego Bay and Convention Center.
Plans for the Convention Center expansion include a rooftop park and another hotel. But just a few years ago, this area was a warehouse district that had fallen into serious blight. The transformation as you can see above is a vibrant new district in downtown San Diego that holds much so much promise for even more expansion.
San Diego's national football franchise, the San Diego Chargers is eying the possibility of another major league stadium near the baseball's state of the art ballpark which was the centerpiece of the revival that opened in 2004. The expansion of the bayside is no less less stunning with beautiful marinas, fist class hotels and the Convention center. East village, the newest center of modern urban development, remains home to San Diego art district. Set among the stunning number of high rises, the new center is home to artists' homes, studios, galleries, cafe's and restaurants along with other retail business that enhance the over-all East Village Community experience.
