The Title sounds like something that would appear on our Black and White TV sets back in the early sixties just before the Ed Sullivan Show.
This is a test!
I have had so many comments, instead of deleting this post, I will expand it as to why I wrote this post and titled it , This is a test.
First allow me to say, as the founder of the ActiveRain Photoblogger group I had received an e-mail that one our excellent members posts was deleted because it did not conform to our groups guidelines.
It is our policy that if I or the Administrator or any one of our group moderators deletes a post , we always send a friendly, polite and encouraging e-mail to the member requesting they bring that post up to compliance of the group guidelines.
In this instance the member said ( I paraphrase) the e-mail was terse or unfriendly . Wanting to double check, we asked for a copy of what the member recieved. It had been deleted from the members computer already. The Administrator and I wondered allowed if the member received other e-mails not sent by our fantastic group moderators.
As part of our interest to check out this member's concern, I would write a post and had our Administrator delete it from the group and see what I got by way of e-mails. So I posted this Test post. What I received was just a simple notice that the post may not have met the group guidelines and I invited to member to contact the moderators.
The long and the short of our trial post and due diligence in serving our group members was that we did discover that a member moderator from another group sent the e-mail. Case solved .
Now I will add a nice photo to be in compliance of my own group so they can also read this. This is a test photo taken with my new Nikon D-90. It is the very first picture I took with this camera as I sat and tried to figure out all the buttons on it :-). It is a picture of the pods I seem to grow easily on my Stephanotis plant. There are 5 pods this year and I needed something to focus the 50 mm lens on. Nothing fabulous of course but this was just a test. :-)

Testing one two three....HI WILLIAM!
....this is only a test. Had it been an actual alert you would be notified to tune your radio to XX.X AM for further instruction.
Wasn't the Cold War fun? Duck & Cover!
William,
If this were an actual emergency, what should we do? Send referrals to you?
Hi William! Hope all is well with you. We are having a couple of warm days ... fresh air!!
Woo Hoo, How are you? Debi and I are testing the response e-mail from ActiveRain as she deletes this post from our group. We have some members that don't like all the e-mails they get when a post gets removed so we are trying to see what it is exactly that they get. Guess that should come any minute, LOL.
Hi Kevin, Thanks for filling in all the MISSING words that I couldn't think of, LMAO. Love it!
Hi Susie, How wonderful to see you and to get your comment. I miss you all so much of late since I haven't posted anything. Me Bad!
Hi Ron, WOW, thank you. I hadn't thought of that. I love what you wrote here and yes, that sounds like a good idea, LMAO. I'll even pay referral fees, LOL.
Wait! No one said there would be tests! I didn't study. :-(
Hi Dan, You made me laugh out loud. The first thing that came into mind was a b---- joke about not having time to study for an upcoming PAP test. LOL.
William,
You're to late!
The test was on another post, every one laughed their way into failing!
They laughed at a buyer with money.
They laughed at creative thinking.
They laughed at a buyer who thought he could buy a home!
They laughed as the seller faced foreclosure.
They lafted when none of them got paid!
Laughing is good!
Sometimes!
Just ranting.
Bill
Hi William..did we pass? Or did the test turn out as planned? I just wanted to stop by and say hello, have a great weekend!
Hi Bill,
I could go back and write the reason I posted this so everyone would know what I was up to. I asked my PhotoBlogger Administrator to look for this post called " This is a test" and delete it from our group. The reason I posted it was so she could delete it. By deleting a post from a group where it was posted , it generates an automatic e-mail from ActiveRain that the post was deleted from whatever group deleted it.
We mistakingly believed a member might have been upset by receiving that e-mail thinking it might have been too direct and we wanted to see what they received. The automatic e-mail simply suggested that the post did not conform to the guidelines of the group and that the member should consult further with the moderator that deleted it. So this post was really intended to generate that automatic e-mail so our moderators could see what the members were receiving in addition to the moderators e-mail explaining why the post had to be deleted from the group.
In the process, a member completed my thoughts in the comment section and made everyone including me laugh out loud.
Hi Russell, This simple tiny post has brought good friends even closer today. Thank you and I hope your weekend is also wonderful. Nice to see you and I have been a bit remiss for not writing any posts of late. Been a little hectic of late but all is getting done and I will be writing more and more very soon. Thank You as always for dropping over.
I remember seeing that verbage many times way back in the day. What are you testing?
Hi Don,
We were testing what would happen to a post that was deleted from a group. I posted this to a group and ask the group administrator to delete so I read the default e-mail that would be generated. Had I not received so many comments, I would have just deleted the post, :-) Nice to hear from you again Don.
Well my first thought was...what ARE you testing? Sounds like the radio commercial...if this had been a real emergency.
The I saw the comments.
You should have at least made it long enough for the points. LOL
Jeff
Hi Jeff, I have really been busy this year, but about 2 weeks ago a cold/flu unlike anything I have ever experienced hit me. I still have it. The cold part settled in my ears and reduced my hearing to about 20 or 30 %. Being busy and can't hear, feeling like crap but needing to to be responsive has been really tough on me. I have been trying to log in everyday and type a few comments to keep from falling so far behind. I haven't posted anything in weeks and being sick and feeling my head is wrapped in cotton batting, I just tried to take it one day at a time. I am not the complainer type so forgive this comment back to you, telling you all my woes.
I have been negotiating for my Buyers during this whole ordeal having written a couple contracts. Everyone has to practically scream at me for me to hear and understand what they are saying. When this passes, I sure this whole mess will be funny to me, especially that I am getting through it with some sense of humor, :-)
So I had already nearly finished the post when I got your very cute comment.
Hey William - Good job in coming into compliance with this post - I guess I won't have to delete it AGAIN! LOL
Also posted to the group about the issue we have been dealing with since last night. Hopefully, this will put an end to it.
Best wishes in feeling better very soon, William!
Debi
LMAO, Hi Debi. What a day. Would you believe I have been trying since early this morning to get all this done. At least I think it was still morning when we talked. Thank you and I am glad to hear that you are mend as well. As I get older , everything seems to take longer. Did I say that! LOL
Hope you feel much better soon William. I don't spend as much time on AR as before, and keeping track of all the Group rules keeps me from joining and participating. However, I do visit to see what's going on. ;-) Take good care.
Hi Susie, I would love to see join our group. It is easy, we have a min word requirement of 50 words to present a photo story of the image which has be yours. You write really well, do great video and your photos are spendid. I know you would pick up a great following among our members. You will like our Administrator as well as our moderators of talents and lover's of photo journalism. The experience levels are amazing and you would add so much.
William,
Your test for me seems fantastic that's a great shot and very well done, what camera did you buy? also I bet that you are doing miracles with that Apple !
William - I just made it back to your blog and found your latest group of postings! I knew you had not been feeling well, so had neglected checking out your new stuff. . .LOL
I fully understand about those Nikon D90 buttons. I've been going through the same thing, since I got my D90 about a month before you did. I will assure you that it gets easier! The day, I shot the Sutter's Fort photos, I actually felt reasonably comfortable with the new camera for the first time.
Did you shoot these pictures with the 50 MM? I suspect so!
I've been using primarily the 18 x 105 lens, and love it! I figure I'll try the 50 mm with the Hoya close up lens when something gets around to blooming here in Sacramento!
Life is a never ending adventure. . .But, I mean that in a good way!
Hi Myrl, think I am all or pretty much all better. Yes,I did use the 50 mm. I realized that I hadn't ordered the Hoya Up close les adaptor but will do that next week. Things are beginning to bloom in Southern CA.
I am going out to the desert tomorrow to see what I find of interest to capture.
