Another San Diego Treasure - Scripps Birch Aquarium - Seahorse Display

Scripps Birch Aquarium  | Seahorses

Leading by a nose

Currently at the Birth Aquarium, they are featuring a special display of the unique and wonderful seahorses from around the world.

The title I gave this one is "Leading by a Nose", as proportionately he gives the elephants at the zoo a real run from the money on their nose sizes.

Yellow Red, Plum and vibrant Blue. Some striking colors for sure. Sort of reminds me of the some of the flying animals out of sci-fi movies.

I have been showing you some unusual animals of late from San Diego and I didn't want to forget including this guy.

Enjoy!

That is magnificent! They are such interesting creatures. I have yet to make it to the Scripps Birch Aquarium - it's on the list, which is ever-growing

There are times when I look at nature's creations and think even the most gifted artist couldn't create anything more beautiful.  The sea horse appears to be made of light emitting jewels.

The little seahorse looks as if he is made of fine glass. Just lovely.

If I had to choose, the Sea Horse is one of the most fascinating creatures in the animal world.

William Johnson, that is one of the incredible sea-creature photos I've ever seen. I had no idea that sea horses could be so colorful.  Thanks for brightening my day!

He is vibrant and beautiful!  We're visiting Monterey later this month and are planning on stopping at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  I heard it's amazing.

He is WONDERFUL! Somehow, I can't capture that they really exist, William. The seem so other-wordly, or made up by a cartoonist. I love their little angular faces as well as the spectacular color patterns.

Great photo--you never disappoint!

The colors are so amazing. I did not expect purple tones. Green maybe but not purple.
